"I told you so" - Kyrgios to Alcaraz after predicting him to win US Open

Nick Kyrgios posted a story on his Instagram before the US Open picking Alcaraz in the Eurosport poll as the winner of the grand slam.

After the Spaniard did it on Sunday, Kyrgios quickly 'slid' into his DM's on Instagram to tell him that he knew he'd win. Alcaraz had a tremendous run to win his maiden grand slam trophy saving a match point earlier in the event and winning a couple of close matches to even get into the final.

A fatigued Alcaraz once again rose to the occasion in the final match to take it in four sets and win his maiden grand slam final. Nick Kyrgios had a strong feeling it might happen as he demonstrated a couple of days before the event started.

Alcarza revelaed that the AUssie contacted him on Instagram writing 'I told you so':

“Honestly, I check the DM of Instagram. I saw Nick Kyrgios’ message. I didn’t read the whole message, but I read that he said, I told you (smiling).”

As Alcaraz noted, there was more to the message but he would not reveal that part of it.
