"I want to feel that again – it was so good!": Sabalenka craving more Grand Slam glory after Australian Open win

Aryna Sabalenka finally tasted what it feels like to win a grand slam event in 2023 as she won the Australian Open and she wants to win one again.

Being hungry for more grand slams is only natural. Many tennis players have that dream yet so many never win one again. For Sabalenka it's simply motivation because the first one was so rewarding. It eluded her for many years but she kept working and grinding with the final prize coming this year.

Speaking ahead of Indian Wells, Sabalenka said:

“After this huge win it’s easier to go on court than after a tough loss. Everyone was happy, we worked a lot. I feel more motivated, I feel like I need more, I want to get more wins.”

Asked how if felt to finally win a grand slam Sabalenka said:

“I expected this moment [of winning a Grand Slam] but I didn’t expect myself crying, I [expected to be] happy, jumping. It was so long waiting. It was different!I want to feel that again – it was so good!”

She's happy about it but things didn't change dramatically for her. She still feels the same:

“I don’t feel different, I feel like the same player, just with a Grand Slam title, and I still have to go on court and I still have to play my best tennis to win it. Nothing really changed, still working hard, still really want to get this title and hopefully I can do really well here.”
