Roger Federer recently admitted he was at peace following his retirement, and could not have envisioned it happening any other way.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion finally called it a career last year after more than two decades on tour, retiring at the 2022 Laver Cup in an emotional ceremony that was attended by his loved ones and rivals.
Federer has no regrets about retirement
In an interview with The New York Times, the Swiss Maestro spoke about the Laver Cup ceremony and his life since retirement.
"At the end I was relieved, I think, and happy to retire," admitted Federer. "It ended in the most perfect way at the Laver Cup. I was surrounded by my biggest rivals, and my family was there and my friends. For me it felt like, “OK, I’m good now. I don’t need to chase that itch anymore."
