"I was starting to get nervous, I was a bit starstruck": Alexander Blockx remarks hilarious viral moment in meeting model Margarida Corceiro

Alexander Blockx appeared on the latest edition of the Nothing Major Podcast with Steve Johnson, John Isner and Sam Querrey and given that it was one of his main viral moments of the year, his meeting with model Margarida Corceiro which saw pictures circulate of him in shock.

The backstory of the meeting on the podcast went viral due to his honesty that he merely saw her in the stands and had previously seen her on social media but he set the record straight overall. "No, no, no, that wasn't the truth! That wasn't what happened," said Blockx on Nothing Major.

He said that he saw some attractive women in the stands as he tends to gaze around into space during tournaments anyway and he didn't actually recognise said person straight away and thought nothing of it.

"I was playing against Camilo Ugo Carabelli in the quarter-finals, and during the match, I like to look around a bit. That's normal. You guys probably did that as well."

"I saw two ladies and thought, "Damn, what are they doing here?" It turned out to be her with, I don't know, some friends or something. I knew who she was, but I didn't recognise her at the time. She was quite far away, so I just thought, "Okay."

Asked if he played better having seen these women in the stands, he said that he didn't know who they were so he didn't care and it was only after the match that he realised what was going on.

"But again, I didn't know it was her. I was just playing. I didn't care. Eventually, after the match, my agent came up to me and said, "Yo, did you see who was sitting there? The lady?"

"I said, "Yeah, I mean, they obviously look good." He was like, "No, but do you know who that actually is?" Then he showed me her profile, and I was freaking out. I was like, "No way!" I used to see her on my feed, on my For You page, all the time. For years, actually. So, yeah, I was a bit star-struck.

"Then he said he could set up a quick meet-and-greet. I was starting to get nervous, and, yeah, I was a bit star-struck. We spoke a little bit and chatted, then I had to go and shower, do my recovery and stuff."

Asked hypothetically, if she'd said, "Hey, let's go get dinner, but you can't shower and you can't do your recovery – we've got to go right now," he said that he would've ditched that for a date with her. "Yeah, for sure. Definitely!"

But it also not only spread like wildfire on social media but also with his friends who were messaging him and he had to fan the flames. "Yeah, the next morning I had about 50 DMs from my friends texting me, saying, "No way!" I was like, "Chill, there's nothing. We just took a picture."
