The draw for next year's United Cup has finally been released, and American tennis star Taylor Fritz may be experiencing Deja vu as he's likely to face a familiar foe, British player Cameron Norrie.
The United Cup will run from December 20, 2023 till January 7, 2024. Team USA has been pitted against Great Britain and hosts Australia in Group C.
Fritz battled Norrie in this year's inaugural United Cup, when Great Britain faced the United States. Norrie emerged victorious in a close three-setter, although Fritz leads 7-6 in their 13 career meetings.
The American joked about the likelihood of again facing Norrie, hinting at how it would be a great way to start the New Year.
"At this point if I didn’t start my year with a Cameron Norrie matchup it just wouldn’t feel right," said Fritz.
The USA's team consists of Fritz, alongside Denis Kudla, Rajeev Ram, Alycia Parks, Desirae Krawczyk and top-ranked women's star Jessica Pegula. The Americans are also defending the title that they won last year. Norrie will be joined on the Great Britain side by Dan Evans, Neal Skupski, Katie Boulter, Francesca Jones and Maia Lumsden.
