"If you think this is either funny or good for the sport, you have a serious problem" - fans slam Bublik Metz final display

Alexander Bublik managed to anger tennis fans once more after attempting a trick shot in the Metz final, which left tennis fans disgusted.

Bublik is known for his loose playstyle and propensity to attempt crazy trick shots in very odd moments. He's also made the ability to tank his way through a match when it becomes apparent that he won't be able to win it. That is precisely what happened in the second set of his Moselle Open final against Sonego.

Being down a break, Bublik attempted to hit the ball with the handle of the racquet instead of it and while he hit the shot he did lose the point. It was on break point and he gave Sonego a double break lead at the point with the Italian cruising to victory.

Bublik was booed by the Metz spectators and tennis fans on social media weren't any kinder. We bring you some of the reactions below:

"Strange sense of humour. Disrespectful. Ego needs shrinking."

"If you think this is either funny or good for the sport, you have a serious problem"

"this is still crazy to me. I could not imagine"

"Bublik can be funny at times but this kind of shot was definitely not warranted given that it's a final & he's down a BP to go down 4-1. One break lead certainly not a winning one considering Sonego is also a streaky player. No wonder some fans are booing. This is disrespect."
