Former world No. 3
Dominic Thiem has announced that he has finally tested negative for COVID-19 and is free to leave Marbella.
Last Tuesday, Thiem made his long-awaited comeback at the Marbella Challenger losing in the first round to Pedro Cachin. The following day, Thiem announced he tested positive for COVID-19. It was a terrible thing for Thiem as he scheduled to fly to Marrakech later that week to take part in the Grand Prix Hassan II next week.
He was then set to play at the Monte-Carlo Masters but that won't be happening as he elected to have medical checkups to make sure everything is fine before he ramps up his physical exertion again. He announced the negative test news on social media writing:
"Hey guys! I hope you’re all well! A short update: I am finally
negative and I feel much better. Thank
you for all your messages! I really appreciate it! I'm going to
have a medical check-up, so I can get back on track! I wish you all a
nice Thursday!"
