Serbia’s legendary tennis star
Novak Djokovic has stated
that he is pretty happy with Grand Slam titles tally in his career.
The 36-year-old is often regarded as the greatest player in
the history of men’s singles tennis in the Open era, having won as many as 24
Grand Slam titles.
His most recent triumph came in the US Open where he
defeated the current world number three Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the final
with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-4.
Djokovic was recently quoted in a report where he stated
that he is satisfied with 24 Grand Slams and also discussed in detail how
difficult it is to win a major title in the sport.
"I'm happy with 24,” he said. “I know people are,
especially in my country, always saying let's go 25, 30. It’s like, if it was
that easy it would be great. I don't know how it looks but I know how it feels.
“I sometimes feel
like a cat with nine lives, every time I play a Grand Slam I lose one life.
That's how much energy you need to spend playing & investing the energy not
just physically but emotionally and mentally. Just being fully immersed and
involved in that competition & now more so than before.”
