Taylor Fritz stops mid game (4-4) to check his blood pressure. It's been a tough day, with three retirements in Montreal as well.
Taylor Frit took on James Duckworth in round 1 of the National Bank Open in Toronto and the American lost that match 6-7(2) 3-6. Fritz was able to finish the match despite it seemingly looking unlikely in the first set. In the middle of a game at 4-4 in the first set, Fritz stopped play and called a medical timeout.
The American appeared worried and had difficulty breathing after which the medical personal checked his blood pressure. It was the 2nd instance in the day that a player was not feeling well as Fognini had his blood pressure checked earlier in the day.

After some consultation, Fritz was given the option to choose what to do and the American decided to continue the match. His appearance was not looking good but somehow he was able to continue the match. In the end, he lost the 2nd set as well and after the match, he posted a short update on his Twitter.

The message is a positive one for an episode that looked more than uncomfrtable.
