Australian tennis star
Nick Kyrgios will be making his return as a member of Team World at this year's edition of the
Laver Cup, which will take place at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, Canada, from September 22-24.
Kyrgios opted to skip the event in 2022, but has been participated in the first four editions. Despite the Aussie's absence last year, Team World would go on to win the event, ending Team Europe's four-year stranglehold at the tournament.
“I’m pumped to be a part of Team World,” the world No 26 said. “As I’ve said many times before, a kid from Canberra representing the world, it’s pretty special and I’m ready to go to battle.
“The fact that Team World finally got one on the board is amazing. I’ve been a part of the team four times and we came up short after being close so many times.
“The fact that now we know we can do it is a special thing. Hopefully, I can just add to that team, not change the spirit up too much, just add some positive vibes and see if we can get it done again.”
Kyrgios has a 1-4 record in the singles at the Laver Cup and is 3-1 in doubles.
