In our Daily Dose of Social Media, we look back at Sunday 9 June with the moments you may have missed from one final day at Roland Garros.
Featuring Novak Djokovic, Iga Swiatek and the new champion of Roland Garros, Carlos Alcaraz. There are a lot of top moments from the past day to divulge as the road to the grass court season continues.

Djokovic post operation eagerly watching Roland Garros final with family

It is a well known fact that Stefan, the son of Novak Djokovic sees Carlos Alcaraz as his favourite player so no doubt he was wanting to watch the final today between the Spaniard and Alexander Zverev at the 2024 French Open.
So as a family, Novak Djokovic sat down and posted an image to his social media of him enjoying the final with his family. Always classy, Djokovic couldn't reach the final himself with the Serbian suffering an meniscus tear. But he still managed to watch the spectacle. He wrote: "Enjoying this match with some great company."

Alcaraz celebrates with ball kids and staff at Roland Garros

Never one to shy away from celebrating with those who make the tournament possible, Carlos Alcaraz heartwarmingly celebrated with the ballkids. He jumped on the court with them after his title.
He also on the customary walk down the stairs was seen high fiving them all. Certainly a player who always remains humble and it was seen in his title win.

Swiatek stuns in post tournament photos in traditional pictures

Every year the post title win photos provide for Iga Swiatek who had her fourth instalment on Sunday after sealing the title on Saturday afternoon.
Swiatek defeated Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1 in the final of the French Open to claim a fourth title in Paris. She is the Queen of Clay and some dubbed her Iga in Paris in a nod to Emily in Paris. Stunning in a white ensemble, she was reunited with her trophy and stunned in the process as she took photos in front of the various landmarks around Roland Garros.
Same time next year for a fifth title photoshoot?

Good luck charm for Alcaraz before final?

While Carlos Alcaraz will be going home with the title tonight, he will also be paying extra baggage in the airport for another item. He was handed a signed Lionel Messi shirt prior to his final.
He took a photo with the frame as he received a good luck gift from the famous footballer. Certainly a great gift to receive prior to a huge match.
But was it the good luck charm he needed en route to the title?

Gauff leaves with some silverware

Despite being thrashed again by Iga Swiatek in the 2024 French Open, Coco Gauff unlike a certain Jasmine Paolini will leave with a trophy and another check box on her resume.
She finally became a doubles Grand Slam champion to add to her singles win at the US Open last year. Despite her partnership with Jessica Pegula bearing a lot of fruit in the past when it has come to win and also spotlight on the pair, it has not provided any sort of titles.
Ironically in the one tournament that wasn't played by Pegula, it is the one that gleams a title for Gauff. As a stand in for Pegula due to injury, Siniakova certainly showed her prowess and did her job in bringing it home with Gauff. Some great preparation towards the Olympic Games too banked.
