In this 2024, the ATP has seen how the so mentioned new generation has taken control of the circuit. With Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz splitting 2 majors per side; and with Alexander Zverev more decisive than in previous seasons, the new generation has shown to be hard to beat.
Zverev wants to be in the discussion
Zverev became the first player to reach 50 wins this season, a milestone he achieved at the Cincinnati Open. He currently has 57 wins and 18 losses. This is a remarkable achievement for the German, who has had a solid season, albeit marked by some tough losses in his quest to win his first Grand Slam.
Jannik Sinner's exceptional season
The second spot is occupied by Jannik Sinner, who has been performing spectacularly, with an impressive record of 55 wins and only 5 losses. Sinner has not only won four titles this year, including the Australian Open and the US Open, but also remains at the top of the ATP rankings. His consistency is remarkable, as he has reached at least the quarterfinals in every tournament he has competed in. A pivotal year for the Italian, who has been a headache for the rest of the Tour.
Carlos Alcaraz, dangerous on all surfaces
Carlos Alcaraz, another of the young prodigies of tennis, is in fifth place with 43 victories. Despite having won only three titles this year and having played fewer tournaments than other members of this list, these have been of great prestige: Indian Wells, Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Alcaraz continues to be dominant on the court and is destined to fight for the number 1 ranking until the end of the season.
Completing our top other outstanding players in this 2024: Casper Ruud and Taylor Fritz, who have proved their worth with 48 and 45 victories respectively. Ruud has had an irregular performance in the Grand Slams but has managed to triumph in important tournaments such as the Barcelona Open. Fritz, on the other hand, is looking to equal or surpass his record from last year. The American added a new milestone to his career this season, reaching the US Open final for the first time.
There are only a handful of tournaments left until the ATP Finals in Turin, where we will surely see these protagonists fight to close their great seasons in the best way.
