During an appearance on Tennis Channel's Warm & Fuzzy program, American
John Isner spoke about several issues, during which he labeled
Roger Federer as the Greatest Of All Time.
Isner was asked with which tennis player he would most want to be trapped in an elevator, and the American named Federer, calling him the GOAT in the process.
"Logically, I think it's Federer, he's the GOAT, you know, take his brain a little bit," said Isner. "We actually have a lot in common to talk about, professional wrestling, he's a fan of that, not many people know that."
Federer and Isner have clashed 10 times over the course of their respective careers. The Swiss Maestro won their first two meetings, before Isner finally notched a win at a Davis Cup match in 2012.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion then won the next three meetings, before Isner stunned the former World No.1 at the 2015 Paris Masters. After losing to Isner in Paris, Federer won their last three meetings.
Currently recovering from another knee surgery, Federer, 40, is aiming to make a comeback at some point during the 2020 season.
