Isner produces 36-ace brilliance at Truist Atlanta Open

John Isner is a five time champion at the Truist Atlanta Open and made the best possible start towards a sixth title with a 36-ace demolition job in victory over J.J Wolf in the opening round.

He eliminated Wolf 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 in a two hour eight minute display. His compatriot played well in the second set tiebreak to force a third but Isner kicked into gear with 81% of his service points won and the only break point he had to deal with saved.

He will face either Jack Sock or Ricardas Berankis next, while fellow top American star, Taylor Fritz is also through.

He saw off Evgeny Donskoy 6-3, 6-4 saving the only break point he faced and converting two he had. He will face Steve Johnson next.

While Jannik Sinner knows he will face Christopher O'Connell who saw off Denis Kudla 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
