Aneke Rune, who acts as a manager as well as the mother of Danish tennis star, Holger Rune has poured hot water over the claims that Stan Wawrinka said he was 'acting like a baby' during their clash.
Rune saved three match points to sneak past Wawrinka 4-6, 7-5, 7-6 to continue his incredible form but it was the post match handshake where it was claimed it happened that garnered headlines.
"It is hard to imagine that a sportsman like Stan would have said that," said Rune's mother/manager as quoted by Danish outlet TV2
"Then he would come across as an uncommonly bad loser. Holger has only mentioned that he wished him well with the results of the past weeks."

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
