Novak Djokovic continued his stellar run after the restart with a victory against Struff at the US Open. He improved his season record to 26-0 earning a 600th hard court victory in the process. The Serbian played is playing well since the restart and following the match he said:
"It was a very good performance from my side. I managed to read his serve well. I found my way, especially after the first set. The second and third sets were a really great feeling on the court."
And indeed they were as Djokovic won the last two sets with 6-3 and 6-1. He was hitting his shots and he moved well on the court. On his current form and great run he said:
"I’ve been playing well the past couple of weeks, training well, focussing on the right things, maintaining that level of performance and hoping for the best. I’m feeling confident about my game and taking that to every match I play."
His next opponent will be Pablo Carreno-Busta who eased into the 4th round after a victory against Berankis. When asked about that Djokovic quickly said:
"He’s a very solid player, maybe doesn’t possess any big weapons, but every shot is very good." Djokovic rarely ever underestimates his opponent and his statement shows he has respect for Pablo. It will be an interesting match.
