Netflix's Break Point series hasn't gotten the widespread praise its F1 counterpart got and Fritz admitted that it's not that exciting to watch as a player.
Tennis players were not the target audience of the series anyways but it was an interesting comment from Fritz considering the lacklustre reception it got in tennis circles. Several prominent reporters who are around the game a lot echoed similar sentiments even though some players like Andreescu loved it.
Fritz said:
"I'd say, inside the tennis world, it's... everyone
understand that it's not catered to tennis players and to us, it's gonna
be just not as exciting. You know, that's how it is, that's how they
intend it to be. That's how I prefer it to be that, it's catering to
attracting new fans and not pleasing us."
Turning his attention to for whom the show was made, Fritz said:
"The show is catered towards people that they don't know the stories, they don't know who wins what. They don't know these people and that's what makes it entertaining and I think the reception has been great from people that aren't so much into tennis world, like I feel, from what I've heard about reviews from viewers telling me they are good. People seem to enjoy the show."
