The WTA Prize Money Leaders continue to be dominated by Aryna Sabalenka, who has reached $6.7 million in earnings as of this week. She's closely followed by recent Grand Slam champions Iga Swiatek ($6.3M) – the Wimbledon champion – and Coco Gauff ($5.5M) – the French Open champion.
Just like in 2024, these same players remain in the top 3, a testament to their consistency on the Tour and their strong performances in each Grand Slam tournament.
Notably, Mirra Andreeva ($3.9M) appears in 4th place, having won the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships and Indian Wells, two tournaments with significant prize money. She also made two Grand Slam quarter-final appearances during the recent European swing at Roland Garros and Wimbledon.
However, the Russian doesn't owe her prize money solely to singles. The over $500K earned from her excellent doubles performances allow her to slightly distance herself from Australian Open champion Madison Keys (total $3.7M).

The $3M Club

The top 5 has remained consistent at the top for several months, leaving the rest of the players further behind. Their consistency is reflected in the WTA Race, even though Keys is only in 8th place in the actual ranking. These are the only players who exceed $3 million in singles earnings.
Italy's Jasmine Paolini notably sneaks into 6th place, with $2.6 million in singles – a good portion of which came from her Rome Open title – and a significant boost from her doubles earnings of $680K, allowing her to reach a combined total of $3.3M.
Grand Slams and WTA 1000 events are the tournaments that offer the most prize money and explain who the current year's leading earners are. American Amanda Anisimova ($2.9M) is an example of this, having won the Doha Open title and reached the Wimbledon final. The 23-year-old has entered the top 10 in the ranking and is among the players with the highest earnings currently. She's set to reach $3 million in earnings if she secures a couple of wins at the Canadian Open.

Pegula, Svitolina, and Rybakina round out the top 10

In 8th place is Jessica Pegula ($2.9M), marking a distance from her current WTA ranking of No. 4. Pegula this year has a modest 5-3 record in Grand Slams, with her best result being a 4th round at Roland Garros. Performance in the Majors marks the big differences for players at the very top, although she manages to stay high up thanks to three titles this year (two of them WTA 500s), plus two other finals (including the WTA 1000 Miami Open).
Completing the top 10 are two players who have maintained consistency throughout the season: Elina Svitolina has accumulated $1.9M, with two quarter-final appearances in major tournaments, semifinals in Madrid, and quarter-finals in Indian Wells and Rome. She also claimed the WTA 250 Rouen Open title, her first in two years. The other is Elena Rybakina ($1.9M), who despite not having advanced past the Round of 16 in any Grand Slam, has been consistent throughout the year, with semifinal appearances in Dubai and the title at the WTA 500 Strasbourg Open, alongside a 31-13 season record.

Surprise Earners: Doubles specialists make their mark

Those who stand out surprisingly high on the list are doubles specialists Kateřina Siniaková (11th) and Taylor Townsend (13th). Together, they are the No. 1 doubles pair by a wide margin, and they have almost $1.4 million in doubles earnings this year.
The Czech player has accumulated $1.8 million in total earnings, with only a quarter of that earned in singles. The difference is even greater for Townsend, who has a total of $1.6 million in earnings, with only $300K of that coming from singles performances.
