31-year-old
Filip Krajinovic of Serbian hinted at a possible big career announcement which some are speculating to be retired after a very bad stretch of results.
Krajinovic once stood in the Paris Masters final a few years ago losing in the final but he never quite hit that level again. He was ranked 26th at the time which was the best career ranking he ever had but things are a bit different now. He's pretty much on the verge of dropping out of the top 100 with a 7-15 record so far this year.
Last year was okay at 20-17 with the previous year having a 20-23 record. It's been a while since he posted a really good one which happened in 2019 when he had a 46-21 record. Speaking to Serbian media after his Roland Garros exit, Krajinovic hinted at a big announcement.
Retirement looming
He didn't really hint at a retirement specifically but the way he phrased made it seem like the announcement would be surprising. At 31 Krajinovic is still young enough to keep paying but his statement might make you think otherwise:
"I mean, I got hit in the throat right at the beginning. It
bothered me a little, but that's not why I lost. It's a bad streak of
my career that seems never-ending and simply - I'm having a hard time
with all of this. All kinds of things are going through my head,
thoughts... I will soon announce some news regarding my career, it may
be unexpected, but soon everyone will find out what will happen."
