Tennis players are being asked regularly about Novak Djokovic and his Australian Open row and the latest to speak out on the matter is Joao Sousa.
The Portuguese player is vaccinated and he arrived in Australia as one of the many tennis players that are vaccinated. Sousa respects Djokovic as a tennis player but he also branded the Serbian selfish for the way he arrived in Australia saying:
"I respect that he fights for what he believes and I can be empathetic
with what he is going through in Australia, but it's a bit selfish from him to arrive here as the only player unvaccinated. It's tough for us
players to accept that."
Sousa further said:
"Many players – not my case – didn't want to get vaccinated and were forced to do it to be able to play tournaments. He is finding a way around those rules."
Sousa is not wrong in his assessment as Djokovic created all of this by not being willing to be vaccinated. He is one of only 3 players in the top 100 that did not get vaccinated.
