Self-described sports fan
Iga Swiatek is finding inspiration everywhere in sports and she thinks that sharing experience is vital.
The Polish player achieved much in her young tennis career but the youngster never shies away from learning more things. Experiences are important to her and she was able to exchange some of them with other sportspeople who are not from tennis. Tennis-wise it's always been Nadal for her but outside of tennis she also had chats with American alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin.
Swiatek said that these kinds of interactions have inspired her to
try to be there for young athletes who might be struggling in one way or
another:
“I think it is very important to share the experience you have. I’m not saying I’m the right person to do it. I’ve only been on the circuit for two or three years, but there are
players more experienced than me."
On that she further said:
“I have messaged other athletes who are the best of their time and I think they have been very supportive and they inspired me. I’m talking about
Rafael Nadal, for example. If I am in his shoes in the future, I want to use my voice to help someone or make it easier for young athletes.
