Germany’s tennis star
Alexander Zverev has stated that he
cannot wait to get onto the court in the Halle Open and secure the title.
The 26-year-old lost the final of the 2023 edition to Alexander
Bublik with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 6-3. Zverev was recently quoted in a report
where he expressed his desire to finally take another step and secure the
title.
"I'm dying to return to Halle, to one of my absolute
favorite tournaments," he said. "I've already been in the final four
times, twice in singles and twice in doubles. It’s time for the cup to work. I
was so close to winning. I really want it now take the final step.”
Zverev had a decent year at the highest level where he ended
up winning 27 out of 59 matches in the singles category. His most victories
came while playing at the Hard Court where he won 17 times in 46 matches.
While doing that, Zverev also ended up winning two ATP
titles. His first title came in Hamburg where he defeated Serbia’s Laslo Djere
in the final with a score of 7-5, 6-3. His second title came in China where he defeated Russia’s Roman
Safiullin in the final with a score of 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
