Jannik Sinner thrashed Casper Ruud yesterday but the World No.1 is getting a taste of his own medicine in shocking fashion as
Tommy Paul has pulled away in the opening set.
The American since getting his truck repossessed has been a man possessed and won the opening set 6-1. It is the third time since the start of the streak since Beijing that Sinner has dropped the opening set.
He did so during Shanghai against Tomas Martin Etcheverry, at the Australian Open against Tristan Schoolkate last up and now against Paul in the semi-finals of the
Rome Open.
It was a 6-0, 6-1 win for Sinner v Ruud for reference yesterday and it would've been expected for similar given it is his home tournament and he has been playing lights out.
But so has Tommy Paul and he heads forward. Albeit Sinner has since gone 2-0 up in the second set albeit Paul has break points as of time of writing to make it 2-1. Can he pull off a shock.
