Jannik Sinner solidified his position as the 5th tennis player with the most followers on Instagram after his title at the 2024 Australian Open. The young Italian secured his first Grand Slam title and gained greater popularity within men's tennis, reflected in his growing presence on social media.
Sinner's recent months have established him as the player to beat, enjoying a notable present. The 22-year-old stunned in Melbourne by ending Novak Djokovic's 33-match winning streak at the Aussie Open and ultimately defeating Daniil Medvedev in an epic final after being two sets down.
Taking a significant leap forward in his tennis career as a Grand Slam champion, Sinner finds himself in a situation reminiscent of Carlos Alcaraz when he won the Wimbledon final against Djokovic in 2022, quickly amassing a million new followers on social media and currently surpassing four million.
The current world No. 4 gained over 800,000 new followers, surpassing the two million mark on Instagram. As of Monday, February 5th, Sinner ranks among the top 5 active male tennis players with the most followers on Instagram, boasting 2.2 million followers.
At the moment, he is only surpassed by Rafael Nadal (20.9 million), Novak Djokovic (14.3 million), Carlos Alcaraz (4.5 million), and Nick Kyrgios (4.2 million).

Sinner's candid stance on social media

The Italian recently spoke about his lack of activity on social media and why he rarely shares parts of his private life. Jannik Sinner commented that he doesn't like social media and specifically urged children to be cautious when using them:
"I tell the kids to be careful. Because maybe today someone is sick but on social media people post photos where everything is fine. I personally live better without social media and I will continue to do so. I don't like social media. That's not the truth, you see certain things but they're not those," he said after meeting with the current Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.
