The 2024 Bastad Open has added more star power to it's roster, as it was announced Jannik Sinner will be participating at the event this summer. The tournament is slated to run from July 15-21, 2024.
An ATP 250 event, the Bastad Open is one of the few clay court tournaments that takes place after Roland Garros and Wimbledon. Often featuring players players who have a preference for clay, the Bastad Open will welcome Sinner as the Italian looks to add some finishing touches to his preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Summer Olympics to be held on clay

The tennis event for the Olympic Games will be hosted on the hallowed grounds of Roland Garros. It therefore comes as no surprise that several players will be looking to finetune their gameplans as they represent their countries at the quadrennial event. After making the transition from European clay to grass, the stars of the ATP will head back to the clay courts.
Sinner has been having the best season of his young career in 2024. The 22-year old won his maiden Grand Slam title at the 2024 Australian Open. Subsequently, he has risen to a career-high ranking of World No.2. Additionally, Sinner has won three titles this year, accumulating a 25-2 match record in the process.
