Jannik Sinner has added an exhibition event to his
Wimbledon preparation schedule following recent concerns over his physical condition. The world No. 1 was recently admitted to San Raffaele Hospital in Milan for
medical checks after issues that emerged during Roland Garros raised doubts about his fitness.
The Italian suffered a disappointing second-round defeat at the French Open, ending his ambition of completing a career Grand Slam this season. With Carlos Alcaraz absent, Sinner entered the tournament as the leading favourite for the title, but was ultimately upset by Argentina’s Juan Manuel Cerúndolo in a result that reshaped the draw in Paris.
The loss to Cerúndolo was influenced by visible physical issues, with the Italian struggling with fatigue and significantly affected by the Paris heat. Following the tournament, the world No. 1 underwent several medical checks in Milan to better understand the cause of his drop in physical level.
According to Italian media reports, Sinner completed a series of tests and received positive news, with no concerning issues detected. As a result, he has resumed training and continues his preparation for
Wimbledon, where he will be defending his title.
Wimbledon preparation plan and absence of warm-up tournaments
Sinner has decided not to play any traditional grass-court warm-up tournaments this season as part of his Wimbledon preparation. Unlike previous years, when he competed at events such as the Halle Open to adapt to grass, he will arrive directly at Wimbledon without any official competitive matches on the surface.
However, it has recently been confirmed that he will participate in an exhibition event in Hurlingham between 23 and 27 June. He will join compatriot Flavio Cobolli, a recent Roland Garros finalist, as well as British player Cameron Norrie in the Giorgio Armani Tennis Classic.

This will be the only event Sinner plays before his Wimbledon debut. The tournament begins on 29 June, with Sinner expected to enter as the top favourite once again, particularly in the absence of Carlos Alcaraz.
The Italian will aim to defend his title at SW19 and add another major trophy to what has already been a strong 2026 season, having secured five titles so far, all at Masters 1000 level events.
