One of the lucky players in Moscow is Nikola Milojevic. He did not get through qualifying but after 1st seeded Daniil Medvedev withdrew from the tournament, he got into the tournament as a lucky looser. He did not have to play 1st round match and in the 2nd round he coped with Avidzba to reach the quarterfinals.
Also 2 home hopes Karen Khachanov and Andrey Rublev advance through the tournament as the home fans are cheering for them to win the title. 6th seeded Rublev will be playing Milojevic in the top part of the draw. Whereas 2nd seeded Khachanov will be playing Seppi in the bottom part of the draw. The dream scenario for the Russian fans is the all-Russian final.
