Australia’s tennis star
Nick Kyrgios has urged his fans to
be ‘patient’ as the wait for his return lingers on.
The 28-year-old has not played in any major event this year
as he continues to recover from injuries.
It is because of this reason it has been recently announced
that Kyrgios will not take part in the upcoming US Open as well which is set to
begin in less than 10 days’ time.
Kyrgios, in an Instagram story, urged patience from fans and
reassured them that he still has ‘a lot of fire left in the tank’.
"To my millions of fans out there, I guess we just have
to be patient," he wrote. "Trust me, I still have some fire left in
the tank, my body just needs time to recover and get back. Everything off-court
is doing great lam eyeing to come back and have a season like my last
again."
Kyrgios' absence was definitely a severe blow at a time when his
career was about to take off after an impressive 2022 campaign.
The Canberra-born played his maiden Grand Slam final — and till
now the only major final — last year where he was defeated by the current world
number two Serbia’s Novak Djokovic with a score of 4–6, 6–3, 6–4, 7–6(7–3).
