Nick Kyrgios says he heard racial slurs from the Stuttgart crowd earlier today.
Nick Kyrgios lost out to Andy Murray in the semi-finals of Weissenhof Stuttgart in a game which saw the Australian receive a point and game penalty for smashing his racquet and unsportsmanlike conduct respectively took to social media to reveal he was also battling the crowd.
Kyrgios said that racial slurs were one of the reasons behind his behaviour and it was 'messed up' that he was penalised after hearing such awful comments from the crowd.
He wrote: "When is this going to stop? Dealing with racial slurs from the crowd? I UNDERSTAND THAT MY BEHAVIOUR ISN'T THE BEST ALL THE TIME - but 'you little BLACK SHEEP', 'shut up and play'... little comments like this are NOT ACCEPTABLE. When I retaliate to the crowd, I get penalised. This is messed up."
Kyrgios now heads to Halle, while for Murray before he plays his yearly Wimbledon warm-up at Queen's, he will face Matteo Berrettini in the final tomorrow.
