Despite falling in the first round of the Citi Open Washington, Nick Kyrgios seems to have put that behind him and is ready to entertain the fans at the upcoming National Bank Open (Rogers Cup) next week.
The Australian fell to unseeded American Mackenzie McDonald in his opening round match in Washington, where he was the defending champion. However, he had accepted a wild card entry to the Rogers Cup in Toronto, where he will continue his preparation for the US Open.
“I’m really pleased to be playing in Toronto this year,” said Kyrgios. “I’ve always enjoyed my time in Canada and have great memories of playing there. Hopefully I can play well and put on a good show for my Canadian fans.”
The Rogers Cup will run from August 9-15, 2021, and will be held in Toronto this year. The event is alternated between Toronto and Montreal each year, with Montreal hosting the last edition in 2019.
