The Australian Open One Point Slam has began this morning with the Quarter-Finals now set as Carlos Alcaraz has been skittled out by Maria Sakkari just now.
As the name states it is one point to glory with Felix Auger-Aliassime for instance losing to an amateur this morning, Corentin Moutet lost to a coach. While Iga Swiatek defeated Flavio Cobolli.
Nick Kyrgios has also been in action and after only just squeaking through his first game, he lost to Joanna Garland who is British born and based rising star but represents Taiwan.
Amanda Anisimova also took down Daniil Medvedev. While Donna Vekic and McCartney Kessler are also still involved. A packed out stadium in the KIA Arena are watching this with Jannik Sinner also out losing to Jordan Smith an Amateur.
The Quarter-Finals are thus: Maria Sakkari v Joanna Garland, McCartney Kessler v Donna Vekic, Jordan Smith v Amanda Anisimova and Pedro Martinez v Iga Swiatek. The winner scoops $1m.

If she can go deep at the Australian open semis or Final( defending quarter points) and repeat at the French she is the best clay court player currently Iga having fallen off and Saby still not the best on the surface. She only has a Wimbeldon 1st round to defend and a U.S.Open round of 16. The sky is the limit. So give her some grace she is working on the issues!
