Edoardo Artaldi, long-time agent of World No.1
Novak Djokovic, will be rendering his services to a new ATP star, as the Italian is now working with compatriot
Lorenzo Musetti.
The 24-time Grand Slam champion had been working with Artaldi and his wife, Elena Cappellaro, for 13 years. However, they dissolved their relationship amicably last year, with both sides leaving on good terms and by mutual agreement. Following their separation, it was reported by the Italian news that Artaldi would begin working with World No.26 Musetti, who suffered an upset loss in the opening round of the ongoing
Qatar Open.
Djokovic pens emotional goodbye letter to Artaldi
Soon after Djokovic and Artaldi terminated their working relationship, the Serbian took to social media to thank the Italian agent for and reminisce on their time together.
"Dear Elena and Edoardo,
"It's difficult to describe everything we have been through together for 13 years of collaboration in one message...
"My appreciation and love for you two personally goes beyond any professional relationship. What you did for me and my family privately and amount of care and empathy you had all these years especially towards my wife and kids is something very special for me and I will never forget that.
"Together, we created history of tennis and reached incredible heights in this sport. Your contribution to the success is vital and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
"You will always remain in my heart as dearest friends and part of my family," reads Djokovic's message, posted along with a joint photo, and ending with, "Biggest hug and much love," written in Italian.
