Frances Tiafoe score the best victory of his career last night beating Rafael Nadal to advance to the US Open quarterfinal.
The American played a fabulous match while Nadal was pretty lacklustre and it was enough for him to score the win in four sets. The victory sent shockwaves in the tennis world and on social media with many congratulating Tiafoe. One particular left him going crazy in the locker room when he saw it. It was that of NBA legendary superstar LeBron James:
"Man, I was losing it in the locker room. Bro, I was going crazy (smiling). Yeah, I mean, that's my guy. So to see him post that, I was like, ‘Do I retweet it as soon as he sent it?’ I was like, ‘You know what, I'm going to be cool and act like I didn't see it and then retweet it three hours later (laughter)’. Obviously, like, he knows I'm a big fan of his. Got a text from [sports agent] Rich Paul as well. That's super cool, the fact they're watching right now."
The victory itself left Tiafoe equally stunned as the tweet did:
“I felt like the world stopped. I couldn't hear anything for a minute. Even shaking [Nadal’s] hand, I don't even know what I said to him. It was such a blur.”
