Mats Wilander was in Riyadh for the Diriyah Cup and he was quite encouraged by the high level of tennis that so many players produced at the event.
Wilander was in Riyadh serving as the analyst for the event and he'll be soon making his way to Australia to continue doing that for Eurosport who will broadcast it. The former player was many of the top names competing and he was encouraged by the high level explaining after the final that the season is going to be epic:
"This is probably one of the more interesting years in men's tennis in a very, very long time with Carlos Alcarez at nineteen years old, number one in the world and Rafa Nadal at 37 years old at number two. Then you have Novak Djokovic hungrier than ever. There are also so many players in the middle who can win Grand Slams. I have never experienced a year when there are more players that I think can win a Grand Slam than 2023."
