Matteo Berrettini and Lorenzo Musetti love triangle rumours take a turn as ex-girlfriend responds: "Wash your mouth out"

Italian tennis has been the centre of an unwanted storm for multiple days now as a supposed love triangle between Matteo Berrettini, Lorenzo Musetti and Vanessa Bellini has been the talk of the town in Italy.

The dancer who is Berrettini's former girlfriend was suspected of having had a relationship with Musetti, who is a close friend of her ex-boyfriend, but Bellini has firmly denied those rumours, speaking out.

Bellini, who was in a relationship with Berrettini for about a year, supposedly responded directly to a comment on Instagram denying any sort of infidelity towards the 2021 Wimbledon finalist and said that she never betrayed him once.

She said that she has let a lot of nonsense slide but wanted to give her side of the story that no matter what may or may not have happened in terms of between Berrettini and Musetti, she should not be portended with any blame.

Friends are no more as Berrettini and Musetti appear to cut ties.

"I let all the nonsense being said and written about me slide. I read a lot of things, but I've learned that's how the world works. But to claim that I betrayed Matteo? Please! Wash your mouth out before you speak," she said.

This came after Berrettini stopped following Musetti on Instagram. A move which, given the closeness of the pair, has become the talk of tennis and especially hasn't gone down well given that the former has now been left out of the Davis Cup squad after rumours of said fallout have swirled around tennis.

In Vienna, he was asked about Musetti winning Lyon and whether he has got any sort of inspiration from it and, given the rumours, it perhaps wasn't the best time, as he gave him props but wasn't drawn into it. "It doesn't matter. I know he really fought to come back, and I suppose he deserved it."

Musetti has been in a relationship with Veronica Confalonieri since 2022 and has not reacted. But the rumblings continue, at least with Bellini confirming she had no part to play.
