Andy Murray is out of the cinch Championships at the Queen's Club after losing to
Matteo Berrettini 6-3 6-3.
It was not the desired result for Andy Murray on a sunny Thursday afternoon in London as Matteo Berrettini proved better. Murray started off the match fairly well winning his first service game. He had two break points in the 2nd game but failed to use either. After that Berrettini slowly took over the match dominating his games with his serve.
He hit 10 aces losing only three points on his first serve en route to the 6-3 finish. Murray could not quite handle Berrettini from the baseline who was hitting the ball very hard, true to his style. The 2nd set opened badly for Murray as well. He lost his serve in the first service game he had giving Berrettini the 3-0 lead.
The Italian did not serve as well as in the first but it did not matter much as Murray simply could not handle the Italian in the rallies. He was too aggressive and was hitting the ball too well for Murray who could not reciprocate the same power.
Murray would find a lone break ball but after failing to realize it he would never see one again. The Italian could have won even more decisively in the 2nd set but Murray somehow was able to escape a more convincing defeat. A solid effort from Murray but the Italian proved too strong winning 6-3 6-3 in 85 minutes of play.
