Daniil Medvedev has claimed his first victory against Alexander Zverev in capturing his second straight ATP Masters 1000 title on Sunday at the Shanghai Masters.
Medvedev saw off the German ace in an unstoppable win which ended 6-4, 6-1; with him saving six break points throughout the tie.
The Russian has now won 29 victories in 32 matches since July and is now a six-time tour-level winner who now is overall 59-17.
He has also continued his brilliance from the US Open; despite losing out to Nadal in a brilliant final, he has won St Petersburg and now Shanghai since.
His form is truly shown with him picking up 400 points for the victory to go ahead of Roger Federer in the Race to the ATP Finals.
Zverev despite defeat in attempting to capture his fourth Masters 1000 title will likely now be involved in London as he aims to defend his title.
