Jenson Brokosby had a good run in Miami but it has come to an end thanks to
Daniil Medvedev who won 7-5 6-1.
The Russian is slowly making his way towards the ends stages of the event with solid play and little noise. It's how the Russian prefers to go about his business without drawing too much attention to himself. He certainly entered this match lowkey as Brooksby was able to break him in his first service game for the 1-0 lead. He would hold that lead for the majority of the set but Medvedev broke back at the perfect time.
It was a 5-4 and Brooksby was serving for the set but failed to close it out. The Russian used that swing of momentum to completely turn the match upside down. He took a 6-5 lead with a strong service game after which he broke him for the 7-5 1st set win. The momentum remained on Medvedev's side as the Russian jumped out a 3-0 lead in the 2nd set.
He figured out Brooksby and the way he played and after that point, it was rather easy for him to find ways of dealing with Brooksby. Medvedev added another break, later on, to finish off the match with 6-1. A great win for Medvedev who keeps rolling on in Miami.
