Medvedev eases past Arnaldi in Dubai

Daniil Medvedev continued his winning streak in Dubai by beating Italian Arnaldi in straight sets 6-4 6-2 which set up a clash with Bublik in the next round.

Arnaldi is a rather solid tennis player who is slowly coming up but facing Medvedev was something you need to get used to. He handled it pretty well overall, especially at the start when he fended off some early break points. Eventually, Medvedev did get the break and from there cruised to a 6-4 1st-set finish.

The second set was even simpler for the Russian as he took an early break and then added another one to finish it off 6-2. The Russian took some time to analyze the game of Arnaldi and when he finally found what works, then it was easy mode. He had 6 aces and 20 winners in this endeavour while committing only 11 unforced errors.
