Daniil Medvedev and Cameron Norrie won their semi-final clashes and they will face each other in the final of the event.
For Norrie, it's nothing unusual as the Brit triumphed here last year and he's proving what a natural fit Los Cabos is for him this year again. To get into the final, Norrie had to beat Felix Auger-Aliassime who was pretty much unplayable in the previous rounds. Norrie was able to overcome him, and it was quite a significant victory for the Brit was he was 0-4 coming into this matchup against him.
The match pretty much followed a blueprint and it had to do with Norrie's serve. The Brit was excellent in the first set and he won it 6-4. The 2nd set was a bit poorer serving-wise and it gave Auger plenty of chances which he took. In the final one, Norrie served better once again but he also used his break chances while Auger did not.
The Brit will face Daniil Medvedev in the final who once again was kind of cruised past his opponent. Miomir Kecmanovic has had an excellent year and plays very well on hard courts, and for a while, he truly held his own for a while but Medvedev never panicked, not even when he fell behind 1-4. He would find a way to pull the break back and win the set in the tiebreak 7-0.
The tiebreak was the beginning of the end ofr Kecmanovic who did not know how to counter Medvedev once he started playing better. The 2nd set was a thrashing with Medvedev winning 6-1.
