Andy
Murray affectionately teases his mother Judy after her venture into the Alfred
Dunhill Padel Classic. The 65-years-old woman will participate in the Hurlingham event on
May 15 and 16, 2024.
Judy
Murray, known for coaching her sons Andy and Jamie in their early tennis
careers and for her role as captain of the Great Britain
Billie Jean King Cup
team between 2011 and 2016, will venture into the world of padel, a growing
sport with similarities to tennis and pickleball.
Recently,
Judy posted on social media that she will be participating in a padel event, a
sport that is gaining increasing popularity and is a variation of tennis,
similar to pickleball. In padel, players compete on a small court surrounded by
walls that are part of the court.
“Got
talked into playing in the Alfred Dunhill Padel Classic at Hurlingham next
week. The tennis court is way too big for me these days. 👵
😊” Judy Murray wrote on X.
Her
son
Andy Murray reposted his mother's publication: 'Think the Padel court might
be a bit of a stretch too,' he joked.
"Never listen to the opinion of someone whose advice you didn’t seek……" Judy responded to her son.
