Stefanos Tsitsipas was beaten by Richard Gasquet in a somewhat surprising upset which was a major win for the French player as it was his 600th win.
Gasquet has been around for a very long time as he produced his first ATP win in 2002 at the Monte-Carlo Masters. Since then he racked up plenty of them with his final one against Tsitsipas being the 600th career win. By doing that, Gasquet joined a very short list of active players who have more than 600 wins (four players).
It was a win in style as he upset one of the best players in the world on grass which has been a decnet surface for him in the past.

It's incredible

After the match, Gasquet was obviously very glad about the win admitting that it feels incredible:
"It means a lot. It's incredible. You don't think it will happen, this number in my career. Of course I played 20 years, but you have to win many matches. I knew I was at 500-something at the start of the year. It's incredible for me to reach 600 matches. Stefanos is one of the best players. It was a big match. I had to play great to bother him and I could do it. Of course I'm 37 in two days, you never know what can happen in the future, so I just want to enjoy it."

600 was a goal

Getting to 600 was a goal for him. He got to 500 at age 31 in 2018 and he's been motivated to get to 600 even though he was unsure if he would be able to do so:
"I wanted it a lot. It took five years to reach it. It's a lot. In five years more I'll be 42. It will be a little bit too much. I actually did [want to get to 600]. Not so many players did it, so it's a great thing for me."
He also reflected on his company of Nadal, Murray and Djokovic:
"Of course I'm the worst by far" The worst player by far to reach this milestone. But it's great."
