Monfils triumphs at ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam

Monfils has splendid weeks in France and the Netherlands. After losing the first set to Mannarino at Open Sud de France, the Frenchman managed to win a total of 18 sets in a row. Last week, he defeated Pospisil to win the title in Montpellier, now he was facing Felix Auger-Aliassime in Rotterdam.

Monfils did not allow the young Canadian to do anything during the match. Auger-Aliassime had only one breakpoint during the match while Monfils had a total of 11. He managed to convert 4 of those to pick up a crucial lead in the first and second set.

In the first set, Monfils defeated Auger-Aliassime 6-2 by getting the break in the 5th and 7th game. In the second set, he secured the advantage of break already in the first game and added 6-4 victory. After defeating Auger-Aliassime, Monfils became the champion at the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam for the second time in a row.
