Gael Monfils defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final at the 2020 ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam to win the second title in a row.
Monfils has splendid weeks in France and the Netherlands. After losing the first set to Mannarino at Open Sud de France, the Frenchman managed to win a total of 18 sets in a row. Last week, he
defeated Pospisil to win the title in Montpellier, now he was facing Felix Auger-Aliassime in Rotterdam.
Monfils did not allow the young Canadian to do anything during the match. Auger-Aliassime had only one breakpoint during the match while Monfils had a total of 11. He managed to convert 4 of those to pick up a crucial lead in the first and second set.
In the first set, Monfils defeated Auger-Aliassime 6-2 by getting the break in the 5th and 7th game. In the second set, he secured the advantage of break already in the first game and added 6-4 victory. After defeating Auger-Aliassime, Monfils became the champion at the ABN Amro World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam for the second time in a row.
