Federer lost to Dimitrov 6-2, 1-6, 7-5 in the BNP Paribas Showdown exhibition in Madison Square Garden. But it was an unknown young boy that emerged the real stat of the match.
During the deciding third set, Dimitrov left the court to take a little break. However, he pulled a kid out of the stands and put him on the court. And the young boy, clad in jeans and a hoodie, found himself facing Federer.
Federer, trying to be have some fun smiled at the boy and gently served the ball. Surprsingly, the kid was able to keep up a rally with the champ and ultimately won a point off Federer with a beautiful lob shot over his head. The crowd cheered for the boy and Dimitrov gave him a well deserved high five.
Winning a point off Federer and getting a high five from Dimitrov? That moment will definitely be permanently etched on the young boy's memory forever.
