Both Evans and Murray were victorious in another eventful day at the Battle of the Brits.
The age-old question surrounding the British Isles was always whether the Brits enjoyed tennis or cricket more. It's hard to say but right now they certainly enjoy tennis more. Some stellar names
stepped onto the court today and made sure of that.
The first match we saw today was between Jubb and Peniston. While neither is a household name both performed very well and we saw a match go the full distance. Jubb was the one who emerged victorious winning the match 6-2 6-7(4) and 10-6.
The 2nd match was a much more anticipated one. It was a showdown between Evans and
Norrie. Two tennis player's who are solid players with a lot of fighting spirit. This time around it was Evans who dominated from the get-go. He looked much sharper and more comfortable on the court which translated to an easy 6-3 6-3 victory.
The day could only end with
Andy Murray. His opponent was Jamie Ward who can be a tough opponent particularly on grass. Sadly for him, they played indoor on hard courts and Andy was better early on. Ward did put a fight in the 2nd set even taking a 4-2 lead. Murray would however fight back to win it 7-5. It was a much better showing than
the previous day by him.
