Elena Rybakina continued her strong start to 2022 with a flawless performance against US Open champion
Emma Raducanu in the first round of the
Sydney Tennis Classic.
Elena Rybakina dismantled Emma Raducanu in Sydney allowing her only one game in the whole match and after the match, the player was clear to point that her serve is a major weapon. She created a lot of damage with her serve as she kept Raducanu away from any thoughts of aggressive tennis. She kept the points short and brief and that worked to perfection:
"My serve is a weapon, so I'm always working on it and trying to find some variety. For sure, it's my game to play aggressive and my serve is helping a lot."
Rybakina's sheer weight of shot enabled her to dominate every aspect of the match for its entire duration. The gulf between the players was most evident on serve: Rybakina won 77% of her first serve points and 67% behind her second delivery. Raducanu's respective numbers were 54% and 13%.
