Rafael Nadal defended his title from the Rogers Cup this year in Montreal, after winning last year in Toronto and nobody was able to beat him.
On the Canadian courts, Daniil Medvedev, who did not lose a set during the tournament, failed to stop the Spanish machine that worked perfectly throughout the whole tournament.
In the first set the Russian lost already his second serve and lost it 6-3. But what's more, in the second set he failed to win a game and El Matador destroyed him 6-0.
Nadal won his 35th title in a record 51st ATP Masters 1000 final. And the third title this year, the first on a hard surface.
Both players will play on the Cincinnati tournament next week. Nadal as 2nd seeded, will enjoy his 1st round "bye" and will face the winner of the Garin - Mannarino match in the second round.
Defeated finalist Medvedev will face his opponent from the
Rogers Cup, Kyle Edmund in the 1st round of the Cincinnati tournament.
