The new season for the top-ranked players is just around the corner, as they prepare for their Aussie trips, which should come in the next couple of days.
In the latest TennisTV video, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, Alexander Zverev and others spoke about their closest friends on the Tour, choosing their compatriots or someone who makes them laugh. Nadal picked his childhood friend and the Rio Olympics doubles partner Marc Lopez, winning five ATP titles with the fellow Spaniard and experiencing many great moments.
Rafa also mentioned Feliciano Lopez, David Ferrer and Pablo Andujar as his close friends. Novak Djokovic said that Filip Krajinovic is his closest friend on the Tour, often training with him and preparing for more of that in Adelaide if Krajinovic travels there instead of Melbourne.
As was expected, Alexander Zverev selected the experienced Brazilian Marcelo Mello, who is often with him during tournaments and vacations, becoming close friends despite the age difference.
Dominic Thiem and Andrey Rublev are on Zverev's list as well. Diego Schwartzman went with Federico Coria and Dominic Thiem, while the Austrian picked Alexander Zverev since they speak the same language and get along with each other well. Andrey Rublev mentioned Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachanov, Dominic Thiem as his closest guys on the men's Tour.
