Carlos Alcaraz will turn 20 very soon and that means that Rafael Nadal will remain the player with the most wins on the ATP 1000 level as a teenager.
Alcaraz has achieved much as a teenager but as he's about to turn 20 he won't qualify anymore as one. The Spaniard has been utterly sensational becoming both world number one, grand slam champion and year-end world number one before the age of 20. It's some of the best resumes we've seen for a player that young but there is one achievement he wasn't able to match.
Rafael Nadal was equally impressive as a youngster but his success early on was mostly reserved to clay. Even when he just arrived on the Tour, Nadal was the top player on the surface. He dominated across several Masters events early on clay such as the Monte-Carlo Masters and Rome Masters getting to 53 wins on that level before turning 20.
Alcaraz has been equally impressive but his tally will end at number 36 which is the most since Nadal but not enough to dethrone him.
