Rafael Nadal did not waste any time in his clash with Richard Gasquet beating him convincingly 6-0 6-1 7-5.
The Spaniard never lost to Gasquet and beat him numerous times before and today was no different. It was actually one of his most dominating wins over him as the match opened with a very unexpected bagel. Gasquet served poorly and he tried to compensate for that by attacking more however it only resulted in more errors.
The second set was fairly similar for Gasquet but this time around he was able to win at least one game. He served a tiny bit better which is why he got the game but he added 10 unforced errors without any winners. The final set of the math featured the best level by both.
Gasquet finally found a very good rhythm. He served well and it allowed him to hit a couple of winners with this being the only set where he had more winners than errors. Nadal followed it up with 18 winners of his own as he took it 7-5.
